Red Dot Expands Manufacturing and Distribution Operation in Memphis

SEATTLE, Wash. (Nov. 28, 2005) -- Red Dot Corp. announced an agreement to purchase a 78,000-square-foot building in Memphis, Tenn., for the manufacture and distribution of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) units and replacement parts.

The company has operated a 40,000-square-foot light-assembly and distribution center in Memphis since 1989. It plans to occupy the new facility on Jan. 31, 2006, and double the current workforce to 30 employees. The building is located at 3961 Outland Road, Memphis, TN 38118-7020.

"This purchase represents an investment in additional manufacturing capacity as well as more efficient, effective ways to distribute products to our original equipment customers and warehouse distributors," said Randy Gardiner, president of Red Dot.

Based in Seattle, Red Dot designs and builds original and aftermarket HVAC units and replacement parts for trucks, buses, off-highway equipment, construction vehicles, and other demanding mobile applications. It has a global network of nearly 200 authorized aftermarket or export distributors, and its original equipment customers are recognized leaders in their fields, including Caterpillar, Freightliner, John Deere, Mack Trucks, CNH, Komatsu, and Volvo Construction Equipment.

Red Dot's headquarters and largest facility in Seattle covers more than 350,000 square feet of plant, warehouse, and office space. The headquarters of Red Dot Europe, in Ipswich, Suffolk, U.K., houses design engineering, sales administration, and 30,000 square feet for warehousing and light assembly work.
